A state of equilibrium A teenager called Bill Denbrough is spending some quality time with his younger brother Georgie and gives him a paper boat and Georgie goes out onto the street with it and sails it along the rainy streets. 2. A distruption of that event or peaceful setting (disequilibrium) Georgie is killed by the clown Pennywise, while reaching into the dark drain to retrieve his paper boat from the evil clown. Then in the following summer, Bill and his two friends are bullied by a gang and Bill asks his friends to come to the marshy wastelands to see if his younger brothers body washed up there. 3. A recognition that the disorder has occurred A kid called Ben Hanscom learns that the town has been plagued by unexplained child disappearances for years.
